I also found that when trying to run Master of Orion 1.3, it initially would not work. qx773 showed me the trick: you first have to run the INSTALL.EXE program, and turn off the sound card. Then it runs fine.

Prince of Persia
Dosbox 0.72 diablo (n8x0) build #2
cycles 1000
Runs/installs fine on n800. Speaker sound slightly choppy.

Add Ascendancy to the list - One of the best Turn based strategy games ever.

Dosbox .72
Tested on N810

Runs decently with sound off, runs slow with sound on but still playable if you have to have sound. It should be playable on an N800 without a need for keyboard, you only need the escape key to get back to the main map.

It has a video config (uvconfig.exe) that might yield improved performance with experimentation.

While I haven't tried it, I would love to see this game run on my tablet. I played this for *countless* hours.. There was a port for pocket pc's and it runs very well on my x50.. If you need a copy to try, I understand it's available on some of the abandonware sites..

Has anyone considered Daggerfall?

Also, there seem to be many sources of ruby, but none seem "official" to maemo (as in, not in one of the default repositories). Which ruby is best for OS2008+n810?

Yes, in 2011.

If you want to use RubyBox, you need Ruby-Maemo for chinook. You may need to enable chinook extras for it to install though. Ruby will not appear in extras unless someone can convince Alterego to continue working on the bindings.

Get ruby from: http://pupnik.de/ruby.html

What makes Daggerfall so tough? Aren't people running Quake 1 on the n810's? Is it the emulation causing the problem?

Yes, tablet isn't i386 and emulating different arch isn't cheap. And Bethesda isn't releasing the source so native port is out of the question

For any uk fans of football out there, Champ Manager 93 runs perfectly on dos box with no alterations.

Cannon Fodder also runs, however, I haven't worked out the controls yet.

Can anyone get Frontier - Elite 2 to run? I used to love this game, and for some reason, I think it would be great on a tablet
