Does not have a cycle reboot if by that you mean it repeatedly boots on its own.
What happens is that after booting OMWeather displays a blank box stating "Other Maemo Weather Settings". This is IN FRONT OF anything else on the screen. All button and key presses are then ignored. You CAN press the buttons before OMWeather runs, but there just is not time on my N800 to disable OMWeather. That is what I've been trying to do. I'm trying to avoid re-flashing. Others have longer before OMWeather starts to get in and disable it. Others, like me, don't - see GabbaGabbaHey's post an others at

I've just never gotten OMWeather back to 100% - it just refuses to show current weather. The next days' forecasts are fine.

If you have installed 0.20.3 then you can try next action.
Create in your memory card a file with name - noomweather.txt and try to load your device once again.

Since updating OMWeather (I don't know to what version - I just accepted it when it was found as an available update), I have had the Big White Screen headed Other Maemo Weather Settings displayed as soon as I reboot my N800.
I have tried to uncheck the OMWeather applet, but the Big White Screen always appears too quickly for me to have the opportunity. Sometimes I can click on Home; occasionally I can click on Select Applets and on 2 occasions I was able to click on OMWeather (but on neither occasion did it take effect).
I have tried taking the battery out; rebooting with the charger connected; rebooting with my memory card in the internal slot, external slot and removed; rebooting with the N800 connected to my PC; leaving the Big White Screen displayed overnight; creating an omweather.txt file in the root directory of my memory card. None of these have worked and I must have easily 50 reboots under my belt.
Other than reflashing (which I am loath to do, as it obviously means reloading and re-configuring all my applications), can you suggest anything else which I could try?

Thanks for the very quick reply.
The answers are No, and No (Vista Ultimate - though I could possibly boot Knopix from a CD if required), I'm afraid.

I am going to prepare solution for you. But it will be very difficult way for you. (You should have little experience in linux command line). Will you wait for this solution some time?

Thank you very much for your kind offer.
I actually bit the bullet last night and reflashed my N800. It wasn't as painful as I had feared, as I had a backup from about a month ago.
Instead of making up a custom solution for me, please spend the time making OMWeather even better! And once again, many thanks.

Try manipulating the "update" and "forecast stays current" times.
I believe mine are 30 minutes and 4 hours...
