It is unknown rather the Cavemen (you people) or the Renassance Men (us people) will win.

Also, the "you people" comment is a humorous, but not in any way meant to be insulting, reference to the Black Jack, Robert Downing movie. No harm meant at all.
<condescending>Either you get the n800 or you don't.</condescending>
When mine breaks (please no) I might have to pay more for a used one than I did for my shrinked wrapped one. Put that in your convergence pipe and smoke it.
I give up.
Remember, you heard the N8XX R&D project will be cancelled, from me first.

It seems to me you are backwards... the cavement would be the ones content with things as they are.. while the renaissance are those of us making our phones, devices, and tablets do things that only sci-fi writers could come up with.

Agreed. I would tend to think that the grunting caveman only wants the convenience of it 'just works' with a simple one-button interface he can smash with a club. While the renaissance man would want the openness and freedom of a canvas and a t-square to design something that works reliably the way he wants it to and maybe even design something altogether new without the constraints of a gruff grunting miscreant that would rather embrace constraints because they're comfortable and runs around trashing my studio and spilling all the papers over the edge and getting all in my face... I mean his face.

ssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Do you mean new as in beer? Please explain.
I'm done kicking myself: 6 months ago buy.com had new n800s for $175. I put one in my shopping cart at about 7:00am PST. Instead of pulling the trigger, I went to run a quick errand while I thought about it. I think you can guess the rest.
