So how could an ordinary mortal human being with no knowledge to develope anything get a hold of the dev device, if there will be just a few hundred of them, except getting it on ebay which is kinda impossible?

There are 2 MeeGo conferences i believe. One in san franisco and other Oulu. They should give these at one of them. And maybe a few from Developer Device program on Forum Nokia.

as much as a hwkb is impoortant to me, i'll settle for a great swkb over a crap hw one, as long as the bt stack means no issues connecting a decent portable one.

edit: i'll be getting this device either way, if only for the fact that it's not Aandroid or IOS....

well i'm not a developer and my home is far away from san francisco and oulu no luck for me then i guess. seems like the only segment that you can really trust nokia is that they will eventually screw you over, especially if you are a loyal costumer. shoot.

Thanks for that. I'm really not sure though, I just think that if you're writing words on a phone for literally an hour or two at a time, no touchscreen is going to cut it compared with real keys.

I hadn't considered the BT keyboard option...only problem with that woulkd be that I assume it's not so good on the move - you must need a table, right?

I have to say I'm more interested in the developer device... Sounds like they're not bringing it out commercially because it's already outdated - but compared to what? For me it would be competing aginst other phones with HW keyboards, as they are the alternatives - Desire Z, E7, etc. How would it compare?

I don't know what funnier, you or that other guy beeing told "FACTS" by his 47 friends at Nokia.

It doesn't matter wether there are 1,2,7 or 100 N950s with or without hardare keybord or even with falusal typing technology, what you guys are doing right now is just plain embarassing.
probably worth being a bit more specific as to who you are directing this at.
or is it just a generic (let's call it "WWE") insult?

well unfortunately the only thing that matters to me right now is that i can't see myself using a phone without a hardware keyboard. everything i do on my n900 i do with it and because of it the n900 could in some aspects replace my desktop pc. believe me, if there was no hw kb i'd never write a post even this long on this forum. it just frustrates me! argh.

As i said , UI / UX is very very interesting. You'll have to see it to understand what i mean.
so. according to you, this device is not good looking?

what must a "good looking device" be like, then
