And now an unlocked Nexus is $349. FTFC.

As expected NOK experienced a dead cat bounce yesterday after declining 12% for the prior past 2 trading sessions. It is expected to breach the $2.00 psychological level next week. Support may be found at the $1.80 level where it should languish until more bad news is released on July 19 for the Q2 financial report when it should test the $1.50 level.
Outlook: Negative Recommendation: Sell

I already have a Galaxy Nexus, just pre-purchased a Nexus 7 but that Q is a complete rip-off. I'm sorry--but even I wouldn't buy that. I wonder how many of those will sell.

Didn't Nokia just release the ProView today or something? It seemed really unimportant, given the main event today (once again, Nokia's timing is awful... first it was Easter for the Lumia 900, now it's Google IO for the ProView). That might account for the slight bump up in stock value too, maybe?

It's horribly priced for what it does. Boxee is its closest rival and it's 50 bucks cheaper. 200 bucks cheaper is the Apple TV that does the same stuff. Once the dual screen stuff is sorted out via the new SDK's, killer apps that use both the iPad and Apple TV.

That's all it will take. The Q... not my cup of tea.

That was today? Are you sure?

Regardless, the days of piggy-backing other announcements like the old CES days are gone.

Doubtful.

And it's getting Jelly Bean in less than a month.

Well, less than that if you don't mind flashing a ROM on your Galaxy Nexus right now:

I'm holding off until the dust settles but Jellybean's already available for the CDMA (Verizon) Galaxy Nexus phone right now from the Android Open-Source Project code that got released.

BTW: Nokia keeps dropping value, cash reserves and stock price. A great example of reaping what you sow. I just wish the executives would be held responsible for such gross mismanagement of a company instead of the golden parachutes they often get away with after ruining progress, economies and people.

This Google IO stuff and the way Jellybean is out there is the sort of exciting support and open-source community-built stuff I was really hoping for when I jumped into Maemo years ago. Nokia. Pff. Again--soooo much misrepresentation and wasted potential.

Even if you look at parts that are not exactly thriving these days, look what happened yesterday for instance.

But Nokia came and gave us a batch of shiny N9s so that's alright then.

Yeah, I'm writing this from my $150 TouchPad. It's my most used device, but it needs to be put out to pasture. I was really hoping the Nexus 7 was going to have a built-in stylus to help make that happen sooner, but for $200...

The cool thing about Jelly Bean is that the Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ has been a major test bed, and even though I'll wait a bit to upgrade, its official roll out next month should be smooth.
