qole:

Where can I get the latest version of the source code?

I am struggling with dbus messages to handle different mime types or to start other applications and probably will learn from your code and maybe can even help porting it to the fremantle.

fcrochik:

This isn't my code, and app is written in python, so just use the .deb file from the first post for source code.

You can open the file in any Debian-based Linux with "dpkg -x dbus-switchboard-1.2.8.all.deb" to get the files and "dpkg -e ..." to get the install scripts.

I got this working in Fremantle, I just need to figure out what exactly I did to make it work. Now that I've reflashed with PR 1.2, I can start out fresh.

Great, Thanks!

When I was trying to figure out how to handle mime types for macuco I thought would be great to write a "control panel" application to set the default applications for each mime-type and/or protocol, ... and then I saw this thread and realize that my idea was not that original

I don't know how it works on the n800. Do you have any plans to make it into a control panel application? I think it would be the perfect place for it. Just my 2ct...

OK, looks like I have a working version. Give me a few days and I'll get a package into Extras-devel.

OK, a first N900 version (1.2.9) for adventurous beta-testers can be found in Extras-devel, in the System section. Report problems here.

It is working fine for me on my N900.

OpenOffice Writer opens my Word documents, both from the file manager and from e-mail, and Evince opens my PDFs.

You just have to remember with PDF (and other types with apps already associated) to go to the defaults tab and switch that type to dbus-switchboard.

wish i could say the same.
i installed, tried to run, no go.
rebooted, tried to run, no go.
disconnected cellular data and shut down all apps, no go.

no go = it says dbus browser switchboard at top with the loading icon. after a few seconds, it closes by itself (no switchboard gui actually popped up).

running 1.2, titan kernel, v37
