bundyo, yer, but i use hand drawn sketches and my menus are more logical
though that one you showed appears to be a lot further down the line than liqbase.
I was just playing around with using alpha blended images instead of sketches last night works quite nicely.

It looks like a developer trying out some visual effects. There is nothing wrong with that but it has little to do with user centered UI design.
