If you are in Facebook please help promoting the event there: http://www.facebook.com/#/event.php?eid=181221688634

Alright, so now most activities are moving forward with their own coordinators. Every track has an own wiki page and an own discussion thread.

Except... Localization. We have the tight people there: Mohammad Anwari (the expert in Maemo Devices), one of the Transifex developers and also people like conny and thp that have been active in that front (even if they are going to the UX meets Code primarily). Toni Hermoso (well known L18n guy in the Mozilla community) will be there as well.

Can someone help starting a wiki page and discussion thread? The basics are already described at http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo-Barcelon...d#Localization

I've added some initial content. It would be nice if we could set ourselves a goal to have several community apps translated into Spanish/Catalan/<any other languages for which translators are at the event> by the end of the weekend.

I know of at least two community apps (Conboy and gPodder) that are using Transifex for translations already, and we could help other developers with gettextizing their applications and maybe even set up Transifex integration with their SCM.

I would like to push developers a bit to make package names and descriptions translatable. I have a mostly working solution to create translated control files from .po files, but it needs some tweaking. I´ll probably do this in Barcelona, then I´ll document it, and we can try to include it in some packages.
Added it to the wiki page.

I'd like to encourage developers to name apps and widgets with something that is expressive of what they do - much easier for bears of very little brain to choose what they want/need.

Long Weekend Localization discussion thread opened at http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=35234

We are getting a wave of registrations: about 10 in the last hours, all with local names. Probably related to a mass mailing from Forum Nokia to Spanish developers.

saludos.

PD: sorry for speak spanish, i have read that we can speak it.
