There's a fork of Maemo Mapper called (Desktop) Mapper : http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index....r:Onion/Mapper
It aims to work on the 770 Nokia tablet for the OpenStreetMap project but it seems to work fine on Linux according to the screenshots.

hi Gunite and all I am new and stranger to linux but this is a this wonderful forum. I took one and half month to install the maemo mapper finally , from trying 1.3 then to 1.4 got all the problem. Try changing to red pills then blue pills ,then mistral to gregale. All of you guys suggestions I also went through a lot.But i am very satisfy with this programme (still cannot resolved "the POI folder not a db or the files is corrupted.")Mr gunite you must not stop working cause no matter how hard i try i don't give up cause the path will be laid by you and you a like.Maemo will be greatest software for n770 thanks

I'm in for testing. I LOVE using 1.4.6 right now and am very interested in the upcoming changes you suggested. Current setup is 770 w/ OS2006 and Nokia LD-3W GPS receiver.

I would like to second the idea that was posted a few pages back. Somebody mentioned that they would like to be able to "upload location" and I think that would be a great idea. I think all you would need is something similar to the current "Repository URL Format" that would tell MM where to send the data and in what format. Again, MM wouldn't have to do much work other than "visit" the URL. It would be the responsibility of the user to have a script set up on a web server. I'm sure a few people here would be willing to write a script (I know I am) that takes in the LAT/LON and stores that data.

Glad to hear v2 is moving along. Again, when you're ready to start testing, shoot me a PM.

Oh, someone found my little project . Yes, it's supposed to work on both normal desktop and tablets.
