Version 0.5
  • Stalk people by adding favorites to your homescreen (aka. menu).
  • Messages done, API doesn't allow sending so it's read only.
  • Some cosmetic changes, new animations and stuff.
  • Follow Facebook's official photo look rather than using links in the News Feed.
  • You can now create albums.
  • Events feed integration.
  • Fixed some bugs related to Facebook changing APIs.
  • Added default images for lists, this fixes random images from the list showing for wrong people/items.
  • YouTube links open in internal media player.
  • Fixed commenting on posts from notifications (I think?).
  • sociality-mtf --background starts Sociality minimized, this'll be helpful in auto starting Sociality so the events feed works, please note this isn't done automatically right now, you'll have to use your own scripts/methods to do it at startup or simply start sociality and tap news feed.
  • Implemented sociality:// schema (see below).

sociality:// schema details:
Code:
profile/FACEBOOK_USER_ID to open the profile of the user, can be numeric or their username (not their email...)
profile/FACEBOOK_USER_ID/albums to open their albums.
profile/FACEBOOK_USER_ID/friends to open their friends (only "me" is supported).
post/FACEBOOK_POST_ID to open a post, allowing you to like or comment on it.
So for example, to open your own albums, navigate to sociality://profile/me/albums using a link or a browser.
I will eventually unify this with iOS's schema, fb://, to allow QR Codes and such to work.
TODO:
Chat (low priority).
Uploading to albums (almost done, will be in next version).
Events (kind of mid-high priority).
Better caching.

Or use the in-app update feature

When I launch it for the 1st time I get a warning with an "OK" button:

The settings file cannot be written to, this means that you may have to login every time you use the app, please fix permissions and restart Sociality!
Despite that error msg I haven't noticed any issues, there was an initial crash just after I finished giving the app access to FB (sent a crash report), but since then it seems to be fine.
And I'm not getting that error message any more when I first launch the app....

For me it's still launching the stock app, perhaps I need to reboot, don't see what "Invert UI color scheme" does either, doesn't seem to do anything for me.
"Notes" doesn't seem like it's implemented yet, but there's not notice saying that, unlike "Events".
All in all becoming very solid, better than fMobi in many ways, fMobi still has some little trump cards, but some features are no longer working properly or are a bit buggy.

*update*
Hmm I've somehow gotten Sociality to no longer launch, I try to launch but it just won't, will reboot.
