trisha02 any chance you disable your "auto poster"? If nobody answer it's definitely not polite to repeat the same question 1000 times...maybe there is no answer or (probably) your behavior prevents someone to answer
Thank you very much!

@trisha02 do the following, the same thing happened to me.

After you have installed the patch you should have this file "/etc/event.d/dbus-scripts-session"
use an editor like vim or leafpad to edit the file and replace what there with this;

description "dbus-scripts"
author "Graham Cobb <g+770@cobb.uk.net>"

start on started dbus
start on started dbus-actdead
stop on stopping dbus
stop on stopping dbus-actdead

console none

exec /usr/sbin/dbus-scripts --system

respawn

everything should work after that
edit: remember to reboot

trissha02

try uninstalling the old batterypatch using karam's commands

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
rm /etc/event.d/dbus-scripts
rm /etc/dbus-scripts.d/dbus-scripts-settings
rm /home/user/.kernel/ideal
kernel-config load default
kernel-config default default
mv /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/ideal.ORIG /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/ideal
apt-get install --reinstall dbus-scripts
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

then try to install the new one

i've got battery script installed and have just been messing with swappolube as i noticed that the proposed settings weren't installed so i enabled them, also i thought i'd check battery script was working so changed vfs to 1000 and applied it.
locked device and then opened and checked vfs again and it was still 1000 so left it for 5 mins and still same 1000 reading, now that suggests that battery script wasn't running?
am i right in thinking this?

I guess karam made a type because if you echo something you "write" it in a file so if you echo 1000 and then cat it, it should read 1000
