Okay, you are twisting my words. No one said these phones are stolen from other EU countries. And no one says Romania is a big black market. They were just bought from there, in large quantities (thus with a lower price) and then are sold here, before the official launch, at a much higher price. They are sold in their original packaging, SEALED. So they are not stolen. But you have a point in the "avoiding taxes" area. But then, after phones get officially released here, these "guys" sell their merchant-dice at a much lower price that via official channels.

But please, let's stop this discussion here. It's a bit off topic. All I wanted to point out in the first place is that proof of purchase can be difficult to obtain it multiple situations.

This discussion is not off topic because it's touching important moral dilemma about helping or not helping these forgettable, mostly new, users.

Sealed box doesn't proof anything, here is example: 4.000 stolen (sealed) iPhones. Same is with attaching receipt here, which is in my opinion pointless request, because nobody can check it's authentic. Also the fact that I'm member of this forum already 1 year, doesn't proof that I'm honest and that I'm not asking for unlocking code for other, maybe stolen, phone.

Regarding "resellers" I could tell just this, if everything is legal, then there is no reason why second or third buyer in the line would not get papers for legal purchase abroad. Last year I bought a phone for my friend who lives in non-EU country. He got from me the phone in a sealed box and with all my purchase papers. If he's going to sell the phone to the next buyer in his country, he will give him also these papers.

not always, I for certain didn't, and i didn't press the issue with the seller because i also know that nokia care doesn't care about the reciept, they check the phones manufacturing date from the IMEI.

So, I also ended up finding the reset instructions from this thread, and reset the code to my own.

Well about the checking of the phone's manufacturing date. At least in Romania, in order to have valid warranty, you need to provide proof or purchase along the warranty certificate. They check to see if the phone is in warranty but unless you bring the receipt and/or invoice, it's null...

I got the same problem as Warhamstr and m0da.
Tried to fully reflash the phone, it not worked for me.
