do you really have "doloads.maemo.nokia.com" in the app manager or is that a type?

It's supposed to be downloads.maemo.nokia.com.

One thing that jumps at me is the "205" in your URL.. I've seen 002, and I think 004.. but not a 205.. Can you put here exactly what you have in the App Manager for the settings for that repository?

The 205 is what confuses me..

It seems you have the same problem as this thread... but no real resolution.

It seems I'm not alone in being confused: Europe.nokia also says that 205 is weird.

I honestly don't know. I'm not sure what using another firmware's address would cause.. with the Maemo repo's I wouldn't see a big deal - but I don't know with Nokia's SSU one.

It looks like the other thread I linked to is still active.. and they are talking about filing a bug.. I'd go follow that thread to see if they come up with something.

Changing your dns settings is quite easy: go to the internet connections in the settings app, select your wifi network, click edit, then hit next until the advanced button appears, click it then go to ip addresses and scroll down to the dns section. uncheck automatic and enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Then save and you should be set.
Cormac, thanks for the help but can you clarify exactly where to put these i.p address please as there is a lot of room for error.

At the moment im running the Voda UK .205 software and am getting the 404 error.
