you dont need to create subfolders. you just need to create .status-menu folder as user, not root, and then you can select widgets you want and saving it.

Only tried subfolders when creating of .status-menu folder didn't help!

Coderus, I managed to reproduce the hanging problem, on two devices (N950, N9). Testing procedure:
1. Install unrestricted system ui (from n9qtweak, applets updated from the trusted repo)
2. Configuration: battery percentage, no battery line, no netspeed, extensions: volume, qml-brightness, dlna, call, internetconnection, tools, widgets. No sim present. Standard menu (with modern the hangs seem to be longer).
3. Boot up or leave unused for a long time.
4. Tap on the system-ui
5. Hang! UI blocked.

It's just as if something long was being done not in the separate thread (like in QML if you call a non-threaded function which blocks the UI)

i'm not supporting it anymore, i'll push sources to github soon and you will be free to hack it

To anyone that would tackle this (as I'm concentrated on Fremantle development), I've gathered some info

The offender seems to be the widgets plugin, version 1.2.0. Though, I suspect, that the problem are the both plugins, and then the effect acculumulates. Maybe it's the problem of gathering data - is it done in a separate thread?
