only that it's easier to change the size and icon, and you can put them on every screen

@farid, /usr/share/themes I don't find the map usr.
My n900 is in dutch but i don't find anything that could point at that direction.

I want to have nfsu running but with an autoinstaller
in a other way(with xterminal) and then they point again to the same usr/* map

my current theme is blue sky, and so far I like it. rebooting gave me the cool batteryicon

Like the devianart gallery of darklar is stunning. The chick is replaceble but all the info on the desk is just briljant!

Thanks in advance!
My apologies for taking so long but I wanted it to be a comprehensive pack. As it turns out I had to make more icons than I thought and that took time. (In between my full time job and family of 6)
I expect to at least be able to provide the icons zipped in the next 12-24hrs, or maybe even an installable .deb in that time frame too.

Thank you for your patience.

Install filebox from devels, go to settings and enable root access.
Then click the home icon, then the arrow next to it twice. Then do opt/usr/share/icons/hicolor/64x64/hildon and that's where most of the apps are. If they're not there you can usually find them in share/themes/yourtheme/images or opt/maemo/share/themes/yourtheme/images

Make sure you take a backup first (long-press the icon in question, 'copy', tap home icon and then the clipboard>paste. Transfer that to your computer. To put a new icon in, reverse that process - from computer, put in MyDocs, open Filebox, copy, go to the respective location and clipboard - paste. It should give a warning about overwriting, click yes). Reboot to see the changes.

Also make sure the icons are the right size - if they're in 64x64 then they need to be 64x64 pixels

As for QBW, i'm still a noob. All i do is find the 'desktop command execution' thread and go to the wiki. Those commands work in QBW. Simply remove all the existing text in the QBW settings to have a blank background. To do your own background, place a png file in .images/queen_beecon_dir (connect to PC in mass storage mode, open N900, .images, QBW file is there) Then in QBW settings panel, in the 'title settings' pane, type whatever you named the file, so for my 'general' profile one it's general.png. 'Add cmd' and type/paste the respective command, and 'save', that's it. Anything else is tinkering, like the icon size can be done with the first 2 scroll bars in the QBW settings page. Near the bottom you find the update rules, like 'update on desktop' 'update on boot' etc, generally mine are update on click only except the battery, rootfs, uptime, and signal strength, which update on desktop and boot and click, so it depends what you have and how you want it updated.
Under 'press and progress animation FX' you see 'frames', click it and hit 'disabled' to remove the animation that's displayed when QBW updates.
Next to 'command title settings', where you place the file.png, you see 'scale' tinker with that to see the sizes you can have, and use the aforementioned scrollable bars to accommodate whatever size you decide to use.

That should help you out as a starting point at least. If you get stuck, god knows there's some incredible people on this board to assist you. It sounds more complicated than it is, i learnt almost everything from D4rklar and honestly, once you manage to do this once, it's easy. I originally just wanted to change my menu icon and was too intimidated by the process to do anything else, now it's like second nature and i have folders of icons on my laptop. Just always take a backup, and as D4rklar once said to me, the worst that can happen is you need to reflash.

Oh, one last thing, because the last thing you want is to lose all this. Enable SSH and copy the whole 'opt' folder to your computer. Ideally do an original one and one after your tinkering with custom stuff, so whether you want to revert to default or you flash and want custom back, it's as easy as drag and drop.

Here's my current theme, that I fine tuned a little bit with some custom icons and custom website/contact shortcuts. Blurred out the images of some contacts for their privacy...

8 desktops, with Theme Customizer and Desktop Switcher, and customize widgets.
Not really finished, I'll try to use a smaller picture for my home desktop, to have a bigger calendar and MyContacts widgets on.

Some nice desktops being shown, but the choice of image host on this page is woeful in the least.

How about using hosts that don't smash you with ads and/or pop ups?

Try:
http://imgur.com or
