So unless you edit cal directly, which I'm not sure how safe that is (probably not remotely safe - and idk how to do it anyways), you can't change R&D mode status on the device

offtopic : i can never get 2.5g, only 2 or 3 or 3,5, what provider are you on

anybody got any ideas as to why sh thing wont work

I'm getting 3.5 most of the time but I'm currently using Autodisconnect. I'm on Vodafone GR

Try wget (url of file) without anything else and then chmod -x (file)

Paste all the commands you type here and I'll tell you whats wrong.
