I guess I miss the freedom I had on my n900.

I can't center these widgets:

Last.fm
Twitter
Facebook
Slacker
And
Youtube

And what's is wrong with my signature?
Is it offensive?
Hm... still not sure what you meant by 'centering' those widgets. Like I was asking, what do you mean by 'centering'? Are you trying to align them on a non-grid location?

Thanks for removing that 'Sent from...' message. It's not overtly offensive, but it was slightly spammy (adds unnecessary spacing and repeated the same text over and over) and, more importantly, it made responding to your messages a chore because everyone has to either go back to edit it manually to leave it in and increase the spam it produces. Again, though, I genuinely appreciate that you removed it.
Yes am trying to align them on a non-grid location.

These widgets fit only all the way to the right off the screen or to the left.

When you stick a micro sd card into the Tab it starts making its own thing to it, creating dirs and so on. Maybe every android device does like that. Anyway, I inserted in the Tab the micro sd card of my daughter's nintendo dsi, with the result that it was not readable any more by her device.
I spent a lot of time looking for the firmware and restoring it (thenks n900! thanks, host mode gurus!).
So, don't use the Tab's micro sd receptacle for cards you have to use elsewhere.
Okeedoke... I experimented all over the place. I didn't see any device step over the toes of the other. I took a clean, empty 2GB microSD card, popped it into the Nintendo DSi, copied from apps onto the SD card and created DSi folders, popped the SD card into the Tab, it created its folders, popped it back into the DSi, tried playing with it... no problems. I've tried a bunch of combinations of things and neither the Nintendo DSi nor the Galaxy Tab were botching up the filesystem in any way that prevented the other from working with the same microSD card.

My guess is that the microSD card you were using might have already had a flaky filesystem... or that maybe you weren't unmounting the SD card before you removed it and consequently corrupting the filesystem (like any Linux system, you NEED to unmount filesystems on removable devices to prevent any possible corruption). If you hadn't been doing it before, you can find the option on any Android device by going to the desktop/launcher screen, hit the Menu button below the screen, tap Settings and tap SD card and device storage. There, you'll an option to "Unmount SD card" as well as to "Mount SD card" (if already unmounted) or to "Format SD card". I wish there was a way to create a shortcut to just unmount right off the desktop but I'm told that SwitchPro Widget is the way to go to do that, if you want easy access to an icon to tap to unmount right off the desktop.

Yep! I've not see any way to do that. LauncherPro has a way to center things by "stretching" a non-stretchable widget and it just centers into the stretched area--but I'm pretty sure that's not what you're looking for, plus you're not running LauncherPro (and I didn't really like it on the Tab, even though I love it on my Droid).

This homescreen replacement is supposed to be quite minimal and blazingly fast. It's called Zeam:

May be worth a gander on the Tab. Perhaps this is good for what ails your widget centering issues.

@Danramos
1) You are right, I did not unmount the card from the Tab. Didn't think of unmounting at all - was used to the NITs that auto unmount the card when opening the back.
2) The microsd card was used in a flashcard - the r4i-gold. Maybe my incorrect unmounting damaged the filesystem. In fact, I had to fsck the card and also erase some files that were still making the ds stall when selected, and then reinstall the firmware.

Looks like Ubuntu has been ported to the Nexus S sans VNC:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907760

How far behind can a Galaxy Tab port be?

A dual boot would be truly inspiring and may be reason for some to leave their netbooks at home.

I'm psyched!

There we go! Finally--someone ported a real Linux distribution onto a relatively newish Android device! It's early but that's a great big leaping start!

If I had to choose between MeeGo and ubuntu, I am far more likely to go Ubuntu... but that's mainly due to my positive experiences with it. I have yet to have any experience at all with MeeGo. How about that? :P
