i think it will be the same as for symbian devices - app&maps are free, you have to pay for (turn-by-turn) navigation
Obviously data costs of downloads would be the user's responsibility, you can either download on the fly or pre-download maps onto the device via your PC.

Amused but yes, perhaps that is it. If 3.5" is the magic number why aren't they using it? :P
