ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Starting to go off this phone. Oh and the Nokia customer services dont know how to work this phone.
If you paid by credit card, call your credit card company and explain the situation. They are likely to help, specially with retail. Let them do the work for you.

I too tested my N900 and sorry to say that it feels there has been a hurry of some kind in lauching the phone. First, user experience is poor due to the slow user interface. Also, applications have cut down features and serious problems in technical functionality that at least I trying to update from old nokia 9500 was left quite unhappy. (too long list to detail here) In addition, after about one hour testing device started rebooting sessions that have never ended. Note that battery removal does not help here. I waited 2 days and nothing got improved but the same sudden rebooting reappeared. After these unexpected experiences I made simple comparison to iPhone 3G S and need to say that iPhone's smoothness is in totally different level. Also, Nokia is twice as thick and feels really a bit old fashion for any practical purposes. Sorry to say, feels that N900 might be a very costly exprience to Nokia - at least it was for me.

Doesn't Iphone have like 3 years of hardware, it's always bad to compare the Iphone to this internet tablet/phone.

Sounds like a defective device rather than defective platform.

EDIT: Ok... the post i just replied to suddenly vanished!

I think you're device has a hardware issue by the sounds of things.

I may not have recieved my device yet but there are many people that arent have any problems with their device. No random reboots, good performance, etc.

Probably best take that one back and get one that works properly i'd say

I agree. I've had mine for over a week now, and I can honestly say I don't have one complaint. It will be nice to see some future software updates and see what they bring, but for now, I couldn't be happier. BTW, I have installed 20+ apps from fremantle and chinook repos with VNC etc, so I'm not a "basic" user, and I still have no complaints... I am truly sorry for everyone that received faulty hardware...

I agree. You almost certainly have bad hardware -- either that, or you've got a really atypical usage pattern and you've found a well hidden bug.

That said. the device is obviously incomplete. I'm confident that improvements will be coming soon, but if you are not, you may want to return rather than replace it.

slow user interface --> slow but powerful (buying decision)
cut down features --> making it adequate for its purpose. (its not a full scale PC)
rebooting sessions --> defective device (send it back)

iphone 3gs --> easier to work with (might be something for you than?)
