I will double check but it feels to me like it can be a bug on the Qt Contacts backend for maemo5.

fcrochik very very compliments for your app!!!

I have a question/suggestion:
Can you add an option for personalize icon (or/and label) of phone number?
Example:
for all Mobile ---> Icon x (or label x)
for all Mobile (work) ---> Icon y (or label y)
...
for all Phone (work) ---> Icon z (or label z)

This function is present in symbian and help me to associate number to the operator..

Many thanks
(sorry for my english)

Natan,

It should work like this already on the Contact Details window. You get a different icon on the left depending on if it is a "phone" or a "cell/mobile". When the phone number is also associated to a context (home, work) you will also get a different icon on the right. All the icons can be customized by editing the style sheet.

If you don't see them it may be related to an "issue" first reported yesterday that I am still investigating. What is your phone "device language"? Italian?

Felipe

I don't know if it is the case with you but I just found a bug that can cause these symptoms. I just reported it to the "qt mobility" team but it may actually be with the "standard contacts" application.

When you create a new contact on the contacts application you get a "cell field" by default but when saved it is not recognized as "Cell" by qt. If you edit it later on, change the type to something else and change back to "Cell" it will start showing on MyContacts as Cell and you should get the SMS button. Also if you add a new "cell" phone number to any existing contact it should show fine on MyContacts.

Please let me know if after adding a new cell to an existing contact if it shows as Cell phone on MyContacts.

You're right. If I change the phone type to for instance 'Cell (home)' and then back again tot 'Cell', the SMS button starts to appear !

Thank you for the update. I will post about the bug as soon as I receive more information. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it on my end.

In italy are present many operator and portability number. I Would use your program for marker a number with the operator logo but isn't possible because are necessary at least 4 unique possibility. Many thanks anyway

Now I got it. I am afraid as now there isn't much you can do. You can handle 3 if you don't mind using "work", "home" and w/o context for that. You could assign a different icon for each of the 3 that would show on the right side. If you need four the only other thing you can do is use one regular "phone" (not cell) for it and also change its icon. Not sure if it is worth the trouble...

This is probably due to the bug I found (see previous post). If you edit it, change the "context" of the phone that is wrong to something else and then change back to "cell" it should start showing as Cell.

dear,
help me out on this...
1. to add a contact on the group, the contact needs to have an avatar. but Mycontacts doesn't allow me to add an avatar to my contacts. can you allow adding contacts to a group without an avatar..or maybe create a default avatar?

2. if i assign a ringtone to one group, all incoming calls uses the same ringtone, even those not within the group. the default ringtone in the setup is change to crochik-general. is there a way to retain the setup default ringtone if the contact is not assigned a ringtone?

thanks for any feedback.
