Created a document & attempted to save it as "testfile" in the Documents directory.
FreOffice error message "The Document Could Not Be Saved".

Just tested.
The uninstall & reinstall trick fixes the startup issue.
Among the four plugins available in the repo, only the Pidgin protocol plugin works, all the other three don't. I have tested them one by one.
Something I don't understand: when starting FreOffice I am brought to the "Open file" , I have tried a number of plain txt and doc files. The txt files loads but the fonts are in very light grey and too small to read. The doc files don't load at all. Anyone also find this?

Uninstall / Reinstall doesn't work for me. Still have this:
Code:
FreOffice: error while loading shared libraries: libkspreadodf.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

No idea about plugins... I'd settle for the basic working fully first.

About the saving, I'm getting the same issue and I have no idea whats going on.

@009N, Opening files works here- though I only had time to try 1 earlier today. What was in the doc files? Just plain text, pictures, tables? File size? Have you tried docx files?

Well you gain one and lose one...
This new version made it possibly for me to open email attachments directly. Sadly to say there is somthing wrong when reading files. I have a document wth .doc ending that is 6 pages. When I open it it randomly does not show every page. I could for instans se page 1,3,4,6 but 2 and 4 is blank. In editing mode however I can mark those pages and then I se the text but unmarked they dissaper.

When I close and reopen the document it could be other pages that is blank. I have tested several documents and its the same.
Changing fonts or color of fonts does not help.
Other than that the new layout of the app is nice!

Its terrific that this is being done for maemo and i appreciate the efforts, I just wanted to ask if this is worthwhile when easy debian allows access to open office etc (havent really tried it yet though)? Novice question but im new to the maemo-linux thing and just want a better perspective on options pertaining to full scale programs such as this.

In 1 word, YES.
Any programs that are installed from the repos wihout too much tweaking by the user (noob) like me, would be much appreciated not only because it give new life to a wonderful device, but gives credibility and bragging rights to the open source community.
an example would be the dude who got preenv working. not that anyone would game all the time, but it does make iphoney ppl go bling bling...
