Well, It may be postponed a few months only, for all we know. It would be bad form to announce a new phone just after offering discounts for the original one...

Personally, I would like a preorder campaign in may for a delivery in december. My jolla is still doing its job perfectly, and I would hate being torn by the choice of new and shiny and old and faithful.

Well the people who stuck with old and faithful are still on the N900. I am stuck with N9 as my phone when away from wifi as Jolla only works on 2G in the US. What we're dying for is a Jolla with a modem that will work most anywhere much like the N9 did. The N9 worked great everywhere I was particularly useful was Japan and the US which I was splitting time. Jolla only gets 2G in US which is very painful for browsing. For others the Jolla hardware does seem dated even when it came out.

I have had my Jolla as my main phone since the beginning, and using it for a year has not made it any worse. I am still happy with it and no hurry getting the next one.
I'd say Q4/2015 would be a good time to replace my device, unless something happens to it!

I consider 2-year cycle in changing phones the absolute minimum, it makes no sense to rush out and buy a new one immediately when your current device can still do everything you need it for

Really? My expectations have skyrocketed.

Look at the specs on the tablet for the cost. If we could get near that for the next phone (smaller screen of course) - instabuy.

Same can be said for the N900 and N9. Heck, even the recently released Nexus 6 is already dated in terms of hardware 'cause there's already better specs on the market just a month after release now.

No-one's calling the Nexus 6 'dated'.

The Jolla phone however is dated to the point where there is a worse user experience (thanks to the low-res screen, poor camera) - and more importantly - it's putting off potential buyers.

No 'normal' user is going to put down €350 on a phone with the specs of a Moto E (£45).

I'm calling the Nexus 6 dated 'cause there's better hardware out already. So don't say "no one" 'cause I'm someone.

You're being obtuse. You're comparing apples to pears.

45 pounds = 56 euros. LOLWUT. It's not that cheap. Moto E costs 105 euros over here, so I don't see why it would be 50% cheaper in the UK.
