Big question though, Santiago: has anyone successfully done any or all of the first 3--which we geeks should be able to do on our own, of course--and then, if it were sent in to Nokia for something else under warranty, they wouldn't notice? This is the primary reason I haven't done anything like this to mine yet.

One year and 10 days after getting my N900 the USB failed. nokia's webpage says of my IMEI "support not available."
I'm in the US. Anyone know how I can proceed? How much repair will cost?
I'm sure this is answered in the thread, but beyond my search abilities....
