I've held my tongue for as long as I can. This is an utter utter shambles and Nokia should be absolutely shamed of themselves. They posted to let us know they were shipping (whatever that means) and since then nothing. As my boss always tells - +2 points for good news, +1 point for bad news, -100 points for no news.

If it's dealyed then so be it - but tell me. I had to apply for PAC to get my phone number transfered. It's only valid for 30 days so what should I do? No idea because they won't tell me.

When even their supplier in the UK says 'There have been no dates given. As soon as there is concrete and definite ETA’s then the website will be updated as soon as we know' you have to question the point of telling us that 'shipping has started'.

I'm sorry. This is my first post here and it adds no value. But really - I needed to say something. Nokia - just tell me the facts.

Be careful though wizbowes, you may incur the wrath of the Nokia defenders on this forum who seem to object to us wanting some basic, accurate and up to date information.

They will tell you there have been NO delays.
They will explain the logistics of shipping to you.
They will moan about you moaning.

Having said that, not heard any of them pipe up of late.

You still there?

I think the reason Nokia told us they were shipping was so they didn't lose to much custom to The Droid and the HTC HD2 I mean if they said were still not shipping people would have cancelled their pre-orders and gone with another device.

Ok, another potentially useless update bt here we go...

I just called customer services with a specific order number and asked for a status on the order rather than a generic N900 availability request.

The lady on the other end tapped away before coming back with an answer that they would start shipping to end customers on Monday 23rd November. (Make of that what you will).

I asked for who they were using to courier in the UK and was told my express shipment was via UPS and that they would be emailing the tracking numbers out after the initial 'we are shipping' email.

Hope this is of some interest to someone!

Driving, clearly

(seriously though, I've looked things up online with one hand whilst driving on my p990, although if the police ask, I never did)

I actually feel Nokia Germany has been fairly consistent. In October I was given a delivery date in October, when it was obvious that was not met, they quoted me November 25 and have stuck to that date no matter who I called or emailed. Because of that consistency, I've always expected Nov. 25th and was not shocked, surprised or pissed off when Nov. 16th passed with no news about the N900 at retailers. I know I'll have it before December. If you can't trust Germans, who can you trust! I even think it's the motto of Germany right?? "If you can't trust us concerning the N900, who can you trust?? Could be wrong though...

All the uk need's is for royal mail to go on strike, when the phone is ACTUALLY Released "let me elaborate" (i mean the n900 is in the post, with my address written on it) If that actually happens i will go ape shi*. Unless MPD use another curier.
