Is it possible to get it to work with Hamachi? Hamachi creates virtual private LANs over the internet. So even if my computers and n800 are at different WIFI points they can still communicate in a networked liked environment.

How does mceguru currently conduct scanning? Maybe, have it so you could input the IP address (well in this case the Hamachi IP which doesn't change unless you ask it to) to direct mceguru towards Vista's mceguru with the Media Center?

MCEGuru uses UDP broadcast to discover MCEGuru server on the same subnet.

You're right : It could be very useful to be able to specify the server IP address in the client configuration. Will think about it

Thanks,

Thibault.

It controls the 360 and all the controls just like it was going through your PC.
Wow! If this works through the 360 I'll be amazed.

Off to install..

Any more user reviews for this app? I'm contemplating Vista and if this is as good as it looks on youtube then it looks like a must install.

Had some problems with the install.
Running Vista MCE SP1 RC3
N800 OS2008
Upon restarting and running MC I get the message that MCEGuru Beta 2 is ready(The file I installed was labelled "mceguru_vista_beta3-2").

With the server running, I start the app on the tablet and I get the message, "Not connected to server".
Shortly after this the server crashes.
What can I do to provide more detail?

Howard

I have a huge problem with mceguru. I install it and now when I start media center, CPU goes to 100% everything almost stop working and even ctrl+alt+dell can't help. I tried to uninstall it but I've got message that some processes like "media aggregator" or something like that should be stopped in order to uninstall and question do I want uninstaller to try to stop them. I clicked "yes" a message that the process is still running appear and uninstall icon disappear from "add/remove programs" and of course the worst thing is that after restarting problem still persists. Could somebody give me a clue how to "rescue" my mediacenter? Thanks in advance
