That sale price was good last week. Back up to 19.99 now.

I checked out the hard drive case at best buy and didn't like that it had a band of elastic going right across the middle of the screen.

I then went to Circuit City and found a padded soft psp case that works great. It has two elastic bands (one on either side of the screen), provides some protection, and has pockets for memory cards and stuff. It was on clearance for just under $10.

I actually like the soft slip case that came with the N800, with one simple mod - I added a velcro tab to close the end so the N800 won't slip out. Just a bit of cloth tape and sticky velcro tabs did the job.

a couple years ago, one of the members of our local amateur radio group brought in a bag full of HP leather(ette?) magnetic snap-close cases. A few of the guys that had blackberries (and the like) took one or two, and the rest rode home with me...

so, today my n800 arrived from Amazon (yay!), and I've spent the late afternoon setting up my recently purchased Netgear WGR614 as an 'access point' to put on my existing cat5 network at home, unpacking the n800, charging it, playing around with the new toy, and testing the WLAN coverage in the house. I also tripped over that bag full of HP cases...

The n800 fits in it fairly well, and allows me to clip it to my belt. True usefulness will be tested when I return to the office, next Monday. I'll post a picture of it (maybe two, including one with the n800 installed) later on -- I'm off to upgrade my n800 to OS2008, first...

I got a CaseLogic StrongMan PLT-2 PDA case. It's so awesome. It's got these little arms that hold the n800 in place, a divider between the tablet and the storage (extra cards, business cards, whatever), a place for the PDA. It fits the n800 like it was made for it. Best 15 bucks (something like that) I ever spent.

I got the Proporta case. It's not the cheapest, but has a solid sheet of aluminum to protect the screen and allows a side pocket carry...

Could anyone with the Prima Leather Flip Case comment on the secure-ness of the belt clip? I'd prefer strong belt loops but I don't see any case I want that has them. How good is the clip if you were out on the street and a thief tried yanking it and running? And how (un)comfortable is it to have on a belt in the (apparently mandatory) vertical position, for walking and for sitting?

I got one of the PLT-1 cases - it is also very very nice. I think the only difference is it has Koskin leather soft (but very sturdy) sides, not hard like the PLT-2. For some reason the PLT-1 seems to be discontinued but if you search around a bit they're still available. I have enough room inside for 2 extra batteries, some memory cards, and a pair of headphones. It was around $15 shipped IIRC.
