I contacted Wayfinder, and the maps (including Australia) are here:

Thanks for all the info. I downloaded the USA west map onto my Mac, now I need to figure out what parts of it to load onto my N800 and how to configure it for Maemo Mapper. Any suggestions?

You can't use these maps with Maemo Mapper (as far as I know). But to load the maps in you just put it in the maps>mapdata folder (should be on the internal memory card. The maps program should detect them.

But how do you install them? Following instructions on the site linked above works sort of as every application start shows error message "Unable to import POI data base ..." How to get rid of it?

These maps are meant to be used with the default map application included with OS2008. Not maemo mapper. If you run the maps program and try to download the maps (and it may work or not, either way it'll create the directory on the internal SD card). Then copy the maps files to there.

The wesite above says I need a license to user their maps.

Not sure how they got there, but some Navicore folders are already on my internal SD card. However, Map software doesn't see them.

Do I need to get a license?

Do I need to move the folders or set up a path so the software can see them?

Have you tried to use Maps before? I think OS2008, also comes with maps. And you have a license if your using OS2008. You just need to download maps inside the maps program or from their website (if you take it from the website you need to put it in the folder).

Thank you very much! There was no way I was about to sign up for or download any software from megaupload.
