Specifically on wifi in NZ: just got back from a trip there. I brought my N800 along, and while there is wifi to be found, esp. in the cities, there seems to be very little FREE wifi. One or two spots in Auckland, and a hotel I stayed at in Christchurch, provided free or open/unprotected access, but the vast majority wanted to charge, sometimes at very steep rates.

hey, it's great out of the box. I'm no techi and i have very little problems. I don't even understand 90% of what these guys are saying most of the time but stick around and you will pick up some great pointers from these guy.
