I had this same problem for over a month, and finally I managed to reflash my N800.
But .. app. manager is still acting flakey, a first it wouldn't install my backup apps, then it wouldn't install them all. Everytime I run it, it fails to update, and if I install an app. AM then falls over with an error.

No idea what to do, as I reflashed with the newest os2008 yesterday from Nokia.

@BigTony

Have you checked the status of your internal card yet?

@GA,

I only have one SD installed, not an internal one. I ran chkdsk on it anyways, and it was fine. Its a patroit 16GB SDHC card, I can try and see how things work if I remove it.

Ok, removed my SD card, ran app Man and it sorta works, said unable to open some depositories, but went on okay. I was then able to install an app. ok. But without my SD card I can force app. man. to reload my apps from my backup.

So if my SD card is ok, (chkdsk wise) but seems to be bugging App. Man. what do I do, remove it when even I run App. Man. or buy an new card ...??

Cheers

BT
