The benefits of the tablet that haven't been met yet by meaningful competition are JAVA scripts and Flash run in the native browser.

For almost a year now, I have been able to do things quickly with custom HTML and a 19,200 connection that 3g smart phones regardless of OS can only wish of doing regardless of price.

Or Java's Crypt, to better reflect its effect on the technology =)

I believe that the whole point of the NIT is being missed. It is a very versatile platform in as small a package as possible. I am on my second N800 and IMHO there is not a better package/platform per ounce out there.

Faltering in 2009? As far as I'm concerned it's over in 8 hours when my N800 eBay action ends. :-)

I went through the 770 and N800 but no way could I justify the N810 for another big slab in my pocket. My iPhone takes care of my quick surfing/emailing needs - not to mention it's not a bad media player - the rest is just geek stuff I don't need.

I wish the N8X0 folks well, but I don't see much future in them without making big changes.

I'd like to take this opportunity to spread this around some more: http://wiki.maemo.org/Tablet_death

And I'll take the opportunity to ignore it. (Actually, I already read it) The arguments don't do it for me - sounds like a lot of fanboy geek-speak.

iPhone FTW. I'm outta here.
