is this not good enough?

Hi fabbro,

That was a useful pointer. Unfortunately, the download link on that page doesn't work anymore.

I found another link to an old maemo port of Octave 2.1, it was compiled for OS2006 and I have no idea if it installs in OS2008 or if it works...
