thanks so much
Digia @web is also great.
I installed it this morning and posted a new thread about it that was imediately merged into this obscure one. >> http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ighlight=digia

Since I didn't want my positive post to be attached to a 3 page negative ramble with no follow up, and there was no communication from the moderator who moved it, I deleted it.

In any event digi @web installs and runs fine too. It runs much quicker than microB or from what I have seen of digi @scene.

Both digia@web and digia@scene are wonderful applications. I do not know if it is a single developer or a group, but really hats off to them.

These are the best applications in the recent past. I dont undertstand why they are not getting the attention they truly deserve

There is a blue arrow on the center of the screen, click on it rotates webpage, potrait to landscape or vice versa. Is this frunction from digia @web or is it my own screen rotation? Yes, the digia softwares are very sweet

I agree, they have NOT gotten the attention they deserved.

I tried the blue arrow and it brings up the menu up for me. I dont have rotation installed in my tablet so i assume that is an additional function if you have it installed which is pretty cool

Here are the things i noticed about digia@web:

1. The best way to use screen estate is to close the keyboard and select not to show the osk on tapping . That way we have lots of real estate.
2. Once the blue lines appear on the lower right corner of the browser after the page loads, ths panning is very smooth and intuitive. I wish it had fit width. That would be a killer feature.

Umm, so it is my own rotation that enable the rotation. Pretty cool. It is convenient that one does NOT have to get off full screen to access the rotation function and the onscreen scaling is also very convenient too.

MY friend, you should install the rotation, it is really really fun when browsing the websites. What is the hesitation? http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=28711, do it on the MMC boot then you are NOT burning bridges.

Yes it is tres cool... these features were what prompted me to start a seperate thread. The impression anyone would have from the old thread was that the app didn't work... Oh well maybe Oberon85, the OP of this thread can edit the title to include Digi @web.

BTW sachin007, how do I
select not to show the osk on tapping
... where?

Press the tablet menu button will activate a menu of setting. On N800, it is the rectangular button above the house.

Sorry for not being specific. You can find that in the control panel> text input settings> only finger keyboard.

Would that be below the curly q thingy?

and sachin007 thanks. originaly I had gone to control panel but I was looking under "display"... in 2+ years I never have gone to > text input settings... I forgot it was there.

...now let's check what's under the hood. I would be most cool if I could use a copy of my UserContent.css from microB.

Edit: No such luck. But there is hope.

Qt version uses the webkit engine of the Qt 4.5 platform. Other users of the webkit browser engine include Apple Safari browser, iPhone, Google Android and Nokia S60 browser. Digia will contribute source code modifications of the webkit engine to open-source.
...and no matter what I set the text input settings for, once the keyboard is called it will pop up from then on whenever a finger or stylus is lifted.
An interesting behavior though is that if you leave a stylus or finger on the screen in "tap down", you can use another finger to pan around the page... Fascinating.
