I've finally managed to install the wmlbrowser extension on my firefox 3.5.5
There is no effect. I'm lost
Note that if you open the page source for the mobile versions (ctrl+u) in firefox the second line shows it's wml content

But if we're following that kind of reasoning, these sites are currently working in the following browsers:
  • Opera 10.10
  • Firefox 3.5
  • Internet Explorer 6/7/8
  • Opera Mini
  • Opera Mobile
  • S60 Browser
  • S40 Browser
  • Safari Mobile
  • Skyfire 1.1
  • Internet Explorer Mobile

And not working in:
  • N900 Browser

So, yeah, I think the N900 browser are handling these sites in a way, that doesn't seem like the standard way of handling them.

But if no-one here can say anything about the problem, what's the best way to report it to Nokia ?
Why dont you read Andre's signature

Well, thats weird.

For me it renders the same in all my desktop browsers. Like this:

On the N900, it renders exactly like Nitchers screenshot

server could be sending different mime type for n900 browser. can some one try it with firefox ua changer and set it to n96 ua for example? can you also try a valid xhtml mobile site like http://waptrack.net

I don't have access to a desktop right now, but hopefully someone else can.

But it seems that the N900 browser doesn't even "aknowledge" .wml pages as real internet site, since pressing the link on http://waptrack.net/outto/1/33545.html only prompts you to download the .wml file..

So the browser probably needs a wml plugin as MrGrim said.

Searching the net it seems that one was developed for the N810, and that there's one for the Mozilla browser as well, so hopefully it'll be something the maemo developers will want to bring to the N900 too.

Slightly unrelated to this thread but I remember reading in another post (cant find it using search) that another user was having problems where the microB browser was opening normal sites in mobile site mode.

Im having a similar issue but only with youtube.com. My bookmark uses the normal 'www.youtube.com' URL but the site is opened in the mobile mode. I've cleared my cahce, checked all the settings and nothign seems to be set to "open sites in mobile.site.com" mode.

anyone know a solution to this?

Have a look through the Diablo repositories (Extras or Extras-Testing), I came across and installl a WML plugin for MicroB which lets me view the Vodafone Live pages. Text only but seems to work well.
