MADDE is a cross compiler (for C and C++), and as Python doesn't use a compiler, you can't use MADDE for Python.

3. Something else. It's a pure cross compiler. The blog post has a comment by Pasi who knows about these things way more than I, please check that out.

Though this should be possible for use with Vala. C generation on local and cross-compile... Have to try it one of these days.

It would be nice to be able to compile against qmaemo-ext-libs in there. Is there any way of doing this? I had a quick go at compiling these within madde, by unpacking the source, mad qmake and mad make, but ran into trouble with include file problems.
I didn't try "mad qmake -proj" - would it be possible to do this?
Is there any chance that "mad make install" would do anything sensible?

However, you can copy the library in you local directory and header
files too and use GCC's -I and -L options to specify header and
library search paths.
