That sounds pretty disabled to me

I wonder whether I need to abandon my two laptops, since they don't have multi-touch.

Touch both of them at the same time and you have multi-touch

I'm sure there's no need for melodrama....most PC's don't support multi-touch either....and I'm fairly confident that Adobe don't want to abandon 90% of their market

My concern was simply over possible problems causing delays for the Maemo5 platform. I hope that's not the case....

Multi-touch won't be an issue. This will only matter on apps that actually *use* multi-touch.. and those apps won't work correctly on the PC or any non multi-touch device.

So for example, if someone made a flash version of guitar hero (or whatever the iPhone version of it is).. well - You could go there.. see the app.. and see all the buttons coming at you - but you'd only be able to hit one at a time. And you would get boo'd off stage pretty quickly for being a failure of a failed wannabe guitar player .

Flash itself won't care whether your device has multi-touch or not.. it just allows flash developers to use it in their apps.

(this would be my understanding.)

Mine too, fatalsaint....but you never know what snafus can emerge when you start integrating such control features into platforms

And if Flash for Android wasn't disappointing enough, Palm's presentation at CES just announced that a Flash 10 beta plugin will be in their App Catalog "soon" for the Pre. Where is Nokia?

OK, that youtube video was nice and all, but Nokia has to stop missing all these marketing opportunities. The average guy is going to end up on Adobe's site and not see Maemo. That's the real problem here.

A proper design would've let you use touch or the keyboard. =P

(btw that's Tap Tap Revenge I think). I've played it once or twice on my cousin's iPhone 3G but I don't like how you have to pay for new songs (kinda wish you could use your own or manually create your own notes). I'm also not a fan of band or DDR in general.

There is a keyboard version of guitar hero (lol) but I think it's for X86 and not ARM if anyone was interested in it.

I wouldn't worry about the Flash multi-touch features being pushed initially since most Flash is interacted with normally a mouse.

The multi-touch functionality is forthcoming, will require some developers to come to grips with it - I've only done two multi-touch projects in Flash in over 8 years as a Flash dev.

But... the recent reticence is starting to annoy me because I anticipated that the Palm and Android platforms would get the 10.1 player; but all signs seem to have slowed down/quieted down for the N900/Maemo 5 platform; let alone the Open Screen Project seems to leave the prior and current Maemo platform(s) quiet now. And it's disturbing to me...
