In fact, that's the only way to use their calculator programs.

I just wish their subscription price wasn't so painfully unbearable.

MerckMedicusMobile is what on my N900, there is nothing Merck does NOT know. And there is NO medical journal that is NOT on Merck. Yes, this is NOT a typo, there is NO medical journals that is NOT on Merck.

Epocrates is my drug books, and there is NO drug Epocrates does NOT know. And sure, there are all kinds of goodies on Epocrates drug book, they are medical calculator, medical tipbits, infectious drug use, and a Note to save whatever you care to save.

These ALL work well on my N900, I have reference text, medical journals, drug books, there is NO medical conditions my N900 cannot handle.

At my hospital, we can have vpn access upon signing up for it. A lot of references, like Micromedex, offer online subscriptions which we are encouraged to use instead since they are cheaper and guaranteed to be up to date, preventing another Joint Commission citation. Some medical journal subscriptions are on-line now too and all of this is provided at no cost by the hospital. You should ask your IT department what's available. I haven't personally used PDA-type medical resource apps in a few years but I know some people who are reliant on that so I can understand your need for it.

I have NOT yet met a medical related website that my N900 has problems. On top this, my N900 is always wireless connected to desktops, both at work and at home, via rdesktop and VNCviewer, this turns my N900 into a desktop. What is that for? It is for a lot of thing, including but not limited to, citrix, to log into hospital meditech and tunnel into office to check on patients, to see XRays AND give orders to manage patients.

The limitations on my N900 is the limitation on my desktop.

My Desktop has the same resolution as in N900, an acer ONE, 800 X 480

Oh, forget to mention, for those $ conscious, Epocrates has $ for your meds, in case you want to piss off your doc, ask him/her, that ' from my Nokia N900 Epocrates showed this drug, which works the same, but cheaper, can I take it instead?"

I wholeheartedly agree. A full featured web browser is infinitely more valuable to me than a vast app catalog and the vnc viewer gives me access to my desktop for office stuff. There are a lot of posts bemoaning the lack of features of the n900 but the connectivity for me is right on the money.

thanks everyone for all the help! i guess going online for medical references / infos would be a possibility. but still i think that apps would be more comfortable to use, especially when it has to be quick. anyway its great to see so many md's/rn's/EMT'S using the n900.

but i have to confess something: i caught myself actually thinking about switching to BB or iphone solely cuz of the medical apps....shame on me. but now i feel much better!
