it all boils down to where u live/work. whenever i'm in an area that has a population of 200k+, there's 3G or 3.5 easy.

it's not scientific or anything, but I can judge whether I'll have 3G or not based on the size of the metro area of wherever it is that I'm going. t-mo rolled out quite a bit of 3G service in 2009 and I've been very pleased.

a plus for t-mo is that I've found their customer service to be world-class so far since 2008

i'm still on AT&T beacause around here T mo coverage is pretty bad. I just renewed my contract too, because my wife broke her phone (again) and so I renewed to get her a new phone.

I would have switched if T mo had better coverage

I was on AT&T for a while with my n900 before switching to T-Mobile, and while coverage while I'm at work isn't all that great, it was bad with AT&T too (it happens when you work in a brick building built into a hill ).

With that sole exception, T-Mobile has been absolutely fantastic, and I'm trying to get the rest of the family to switch back (we were on T-Mobile once, and then my new brother-in-law convinced folks that CIngular was a good idea... I may forgive him someday... )

My family and I have been with T-Mobile since the days they were VoiceStream. We've stuck with them because their customer service is that good. Give it a shot with the Even More Plus plans -- you have nothing to lose but a couple hours of your time.

Tmobile service is light years better than at&t IMO. I had sprint and tmobile for years and the even more plus plan is great.
