Still no luck.
I released version 0.3 into Extras-Devel under the name: Ansel-A.
It's optified and only writes to the directory /opt/ansela
so it's relatively safe.

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

My appName.desktop file had
X-Osso-Service=com.nokia.ansela
X-Osso-Type=application/x-executable
As suggested I removed those two lines fixed a capitalization typo and it worked.

From #pyMaemo

<frals>unless its a nokia app you shouldnt use com.nokia.* in case you actually use osso
<achipa> if not, loose the X-Osso-Service line
<achipa> (it contains a watchdog style element, so it will kill your program after a while if you do not use it properly)

Glad to be of assistance. As this problem has come up several times before I added a comment about it on the py2deb wiki page, hopefully this will help python folks not trip over this...
