Sounds interesting. But could you elaborate? What exactly do I do to set the gconf key (whatever that is) and what is the command line code for this?

The command

gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/views/current -t int 7

Changes to desktop view number 7.

Thanks. That is greeeat. Can't wait to try it out. Though I don't know how long it will take Nokia to finally send me a replacement N900 for my faulty one.

Now I will definitely move up to 9 desktops. Just need to figure out how to make my own custom beecons to take me to each desktop. I use Queen Beecon but so far have only used beecons made by others.
