Sometime this error occured if automatic connect to wifi and search interval set to certain minute, then you entering certain public hotspot or wlan where usual IM network port has been blocked.
In my experience since port 80 is common port and rarely blocked
then you should prefer to set your IM port to 80.
But this only work for Yahoo Messenger, for other IM plugins
you need to search suitable alternative port.
(Don't know if jabber based IM such as facebook can be configured
this way)
You need to configure advance setting of Conversations IM plugin
via Setting > VOIP and IM Accounts > your Y! Account > Advance Settings, then set Port = 80 and Xfer Port = 80.
With this setting your Yahoo can be connected as long as normal web browsing is not blocked in your area, either connected via 3G/GPRS or Wifi.

for who can't sign in yahoo in n900,, i did everything and now i observed the date in my phone is 2009 so i back it to 2011 then its work , try it and lets see

please, who can tell me a solution to my VoIp yahoo messenger account that is not logging in. thanks for your help.from, ugoforeigner
i bought nokia n900 on 15th august.
i had installed pidgin plugin for yahoo messenger.
for a few days yahoo messenger worked properly but
since then it is showing network error and not logging in.
same infection has gone to msn messenger now.
rest of the messenger like gtalk, facebook and skype
working properly.
please help!!
