Before you do anything, are you on black plastic theme? I had that installed and after a while my phone ground to a halt, the unrespoinsiveness became a joke. I removed it and my phone was its usual zippy self.

Run all of those commands, will monitor how she runs.

Out of interest what are the commands doing? I have heard of the clean and autoremove for clearing up root memory but not the others.

Yeah, i got rid of the lot and it fixed it, so i reinstalled the theme without the packs and it was better but definite lags and hildon-home freezing here and there, so now i'm on a whole other theme

update - updates the package lists
upgrade - upgrades the packages that you have installed
-f install - fixes any broken packages

if you don't want to over clock, i'd reccomend downloading swappolube and using its proposed settings. also download conky - its a handy system monitor

apt-get install conky
apt-get install swappolube

if you want these

i highly reccomend overclocking tho as it speeds up the device

i wonder what causes it, i got rid of it for a while cos it was being updated everyother day but there wasn't any change in its speed

and i can even have it running with live wallpapers (on mine only) without any problem
