I have now reflashed my phone - twice - (including eMMC flash)
Still same problem.

I tried the application with another FB account and it worked like a charm.
Must be something wrong with my FB-account. I sent an E-mail to the FB support, but I have heard that the support is totally useless.

How disappointing, I was considering flashing my wifes phone, but after reading what you posted, I am hesitant.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! I got my wifes account to validate. I hope this will work for you too Soap77.

Okay, so I had Hermes loaded on my wifes phone, which reminded me that it too required validation. So I thought possibly there was a conflict between Hermes validation and the FB widget. So I loaded Hermes, clicked Retrieve, and it immediately asked me to validate via the website. I knew I was home when this happened, I just got my wife to login and confirm via Microb,

Hermes updated a few contacts, I exited, went back to the FB widget and tapped to login, and within 10 seconds I had my wifes status updates back.

Next step was to confirm the FB sharing plugin was working, took a photo, clicked the Share button, clicked New, added Facebook to the service list, and it brought the login name up automatically. Typed in password, clicked validate, and it did almost immediately.

Typed in details for photo, clicked share, photo uploaded and shared. Yippeeeeee!!!!!

This had been eating away at me for some time, not because I care much for facebook, but I just wanted to understand why it wasn't working.

Let us know how you go.

Cheers,

travla

That's great news. Interesting that you never had Hermes installed previously. So my theory of a conflict between Hemes and FB widget is not accurate. It would appear that the "re-validation" of an account is broken in the Nokia FB plugin.

Anyway, glad that it worked for you too.
