i uninstalled the kernel power using the deinstall kernel power icon in the apllication menu

and i had nitdroid too installed earlier , i dont realy remember if the problem occured just after removing it or not , but the reboot used to work while nitdroid was installed , but i remember there was an error somewhere when i was removing nitdroid , iam not a geek sorry .

i mainly uninstalled nitdroid because of usb host mode because it wouldnt work on kernel power 45 , so i had to install 46 version

Well this problem occured for me after flashing my mobile as i had corrupted it to the extent it wouldnt boot up. Well after flashing I had installed kernel power (that is the first app that i need) and then proceeded with everything else... Then after editin systemui.xml, i tried to reboot and the problem was visible. Basically I have no clue whether Kernel power is to blame or I am :P

Just wondered whether anyone had come up with an underlying cause for why the x-tem instructions below do not work as expected?
Code:
sudo gainroot <enter>
reboot <enter>
Yes, kernel-power v0.46 is installed. However, it has been working fine until recently so although it might be a contributiing factor, I don't think it's the sole culprit.

I'm going to do some purging of onfiguration files from software I have uninstalled recently to see whether this helps.

Had a clear out of unused software and rootfs, using dpkg. Also, removed other residual bits and it seemed to do the trick. This includes some items which I'd uninstalled ages ago but whose imprints were still cluttering the device.
<sudo reboot> now works again!

I only removed the user-software objects in the list generated by <dpkg -l|grep ^rc>, not the library objects. Does anyone know whether these are all unused as well, and if removed will allow remaining programmes to run unaltered?

Incidentally, I encountered bug 5448, which really shouldn't be 'new'. Does this mean anything or is the ouput produced in error? Can I do anything to solve it?
