So your sim would be unrecognized until you installed the kernel-power-modules?
I performed the apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power-modules while sitting in PR 1.3 (stock kernel) and it pulled down the kernel-power and the modules.
I then performed a apt-get install kernel-power-flasher then rebooted.
N900 is now running on the kernel and my sim is recognized.
If you don't know how to check your N900's uptime, you probably shouldn't own it.
