try apt-get install python-evolution

Just tried it but it says "python-evolution is already the newest version" so I guess I have it. What else could it be then?

Thanks it worked! A lot easier to read than that addressbook.db file. Now all I gotta do is see if there's a way to convert it to vcf files.

Ah, nevermind, I got it to work. All I had to do was open the txt file that was created and make a space between each "endvcardbeginvcard" or something like that and also make a new line. Easiest way was to use the find and replace all mehod, then I changed the extension to .vcf then used vcf cutter to split it all as separate vcf contact files! Thanks everyone for their help.
