That is not the kernel image. That contains all the various bits and pieces like NOLO bootloader, CMT stuff, kernel and standard rootfs.

Though ultimately you will need that bin file anyway (provided that is the relevant one to your country) to flash only the kernel.

sudo flasher -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.203.1_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM.bin --flash-only=kernel -f -R
i got error message
FIASCO ERROR: RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.203.1_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM.bin: No such file or directory
i have no idea how am i supposed to link firmware file to this command whenever it is necessary.
would you please someone advise me how to include location of this file to that command or where shell i copy this file to make the command working without error ?plzzz

Are you sure you downloaded the correct version of the flasher tool. The command is definately "flasher-3.5" not "flasher", if you downloaded the wrong version that might account for the error message.

I haven't tried using flasher3.12 since it says that version is for Harmatten, so I just assumed it won't work and I assume that is the source of your error. Try the 32-bit flasher-3.5 use the tar.gz so you don't need to force the installation, I doubt it will work since it doesn't even run on my 64bit Arch Linux box, but Ubuntu might be different. If it doesn't work, I guess you need to boot from a 32-bit live CD/USB to run it.
