Hindsight:

-Nokia NEEDED to release the N8 in early 2010 and introduce Symbian Belle with it.
-Nokia NEEDED to purchase Palm for $1.3B
-Nokia NEEDED to release Harmattan-WebOS (Qt support) smartphones in late 2010 (penetrate Nth American market)
-Nokia NEEDED to step their game up in mid-2011
eg/ 4.7" qHD, OMAP4430, 1,800mAh, 1GB RAM, microSD, microHDMI, microUSB-OTG, 8mm thin with shaved bezel ....differed form-factors
-(2012) Now NOKIA is the 3rd largest ecosystem, and possibly catch up to Apple then Android in the long-run

every time a thread likethis opens i get so frustrated and angry at nokia again like when my first n900 died and they tried to slip me a N8 instead.

They have a treasure with the n900.
If it weren't for all you guys here it would've wasted away.

I can honestly say it is the BEST phone i ever owned.(With a hardware keyboard.)

There is nothing out there like it and i honestly don't know what to buy in the future to replace it.

As mentioned already, if the camera is not an issue, I would most definitely take a look at the newer S^3 devices with more RAM and faster CPU + NFC and already shipping with Symbian Belle.

As far as apps, it really depends on what you need. A lot of S^3's features are already built in so apps aren't that big of a necesity but more are covered by a handful of options.

And lastly, do not expect any S^3 device (at the moment) to be able to replace the N900. It just can't but it is a good companion device if that is what you are after.
Exactly my brother have N8 for quite sometime now and the OS is pretty smooth so I wanted to add to your point that there many apps are being ported to N8 and I hope they keep doing that because I'm going to buy any new Symbian phone with hardware keyboard .
