After I save the MMS image and view it in the Gallery, it looks to be full size. I'll admit that the thumbnail of an MMS in the text conversation window is pretty damn small.
I'll have to digg up my MMS settings. I never messed with it and just let the T-Mobile SIM card populate the MMS and internet settings automatically.
So, fellow Maryland-er, did you get a new Micro SIM from T-Mobile, or did you cut down an existing one like I did?
I wanted the option of swapping the card back into the N900 via an adapter in case the N9 sucked. So far I haven't swapped it back even once.
Besides, T-Mobile wanted a new activation fee to transfer my account to a new micro sim, so screw that...

I checked that out on my laptop when I called in to T-mo's service center, and checked again now...I'm on a regular data plan again, since they changed it at the time of changing the registered SIM in their system. If I was on a BlackBerry data plan, I believe that I wouldn't be getting access to the internet at all, much less my MMS messages. It's driving me nuts because I'm sure this is a simple fix, but I can't quite figure out where the snag is...

In regards to this problem, I am trying to find out a way to fix as much as you are, it is highly frustrating, though when people receive my texts they are in correct size... we should try and see if different settings fix it, by testing them out and reporting back in this thread..

So far, I've tried out both the "epc.tmobile.com" and "wap.voicestream.com" APNs to no avail. One thing that came to mind with that now, however...would pulling the old 'send an MMS to yourself' trick be necessary to kick the server in gear with allowing full sized MMS messages? I haven't tried that when switching APNs.

It may be useful, though everytime I send an SMS to myself they come in full size...
Edit: Just tried... it came resized to small as we receive from others.

The accords reached in those two cases reportedly involved setting up local BlackBerry servers in those countries through which the governments will be able to access their data directly.

That's the same issue I was noticing. Was this after an APN switch, or just trying to send the message to yourself regardless of that?
Also, do you notice a "play" symbol on your received MMS before the image thumbnail is generated? I'm currently getting that, and wasn't sure if that's how all MMS attachments work, of if it's linking to the slideshow for some reason.

This was just without apn switch...
I notice the play symbol, this is how MMS attachments work on the N9.
I picked up a brand new Micro SIM from T-mobile, and (interestingly) wasn't charged anything for the new SIM...I just had to call to have them deactivate my previous BlackBerry SIM for my 9780 and activate the SIM for my N9. They took care of the necessary web plan changes at that time as well.
I thought about the difference between BIS and the N9 internet plans, but then I shouldn't be getting any internet or messaging at all on my N9, correct? As of now, I've found that the phone can send picture MMS messages in full size, can pull e-mail and web sites, but refuses to download the full sized image in an incoming picture MMS. I remember something similar happening with my BlackBerry before, and things being rectified by sending over service books to the phone....with the N9, though, there isn't anything along those lines to send over, is there?
