From the other thread, someone pointed to a javascript clock. This could definitely be extended for use as an alarm clock (and could even play an mp3 from your tablet).

Some examples of javascript alarm clocks here:


You could just get a nice big font and put the browser in full screen.

At this time, i ve too many project that was in progress to start a new one (PyEditor, Pyne4Maemo, ... and other for PalmOS) but i will port maemochron for pymaemo 2.5.

When i'll get some times ... i'll try to make something better than maemochron.

But here the package of maemochron that run with python 2.5 :

Yeah, I decided this app would make my N800 much more useful. I currently use my cell phone as my alarm, mostly because I've always got it with me. Such is also the case with my N800, so if I could use it as an alarm clock it would work very nicely.

You can already set alarm with the default clock application on the n800 and you can use mp3 too.

Yeah, but would be great if I could use the n800 as a bedside alarm clock.

Thank you Khertan for the maemochron update - looks great on my 770. Would it be possible to make it play a sound when the countdown timer reaches zero?
