At beginning of 2013 Golla opened a dispute in court against Jolla, because they considered the two names were very similar (and Golla was on the market first), Golla was a worldwide recognized brand, and Jolla was trying to take advantage of that similarity of names (and Golla popularity).
Golla also claimed that in English the two names have a similar pronunciation and the logos style is also similar. Last but not least, Golla declared that while currently doing only cases and bags, they might step up and begin producing mobile phones themselves (yeah, sure!
Their request was for Jolla to change name.
Jolla (of course) rejected all those claims, including Golla wide popularity.
The court decided that it doesn't seem likely that an average Finnish consumer may confuse the two names and think that Golla bags and Jolla phones are from the same company, rejected Golla claims, and make them pay 19700 EUR to Jolla for the legal expenses.
And Jolla can keep their name.
